Christmas Crochet Gift Ideas

Sharing is caring!

It’s time to start thinking about Christmas Crochet Gift Ideas, and I have a few wonderful and fun suggestions for you! It is only the end of August as I write this, but it does take some time to crochet gift items for our friends and loved ones, and Christmas is only four months away!

I did create a fun video showing all these projects and you can check that out here if you want to watch my antics. Otherwise, just scroll down to find the links to all the projects I talk about. I did forget to include a hat and scarf pattern for men when I did the video, so I’ve included those patterns here as well.

Christmas Crochet Gift Ideas

One: Cozy Crochet Mittens for Beginners

These mittens are so easy to make, so don’t be overwhelmed with the idea of crocheting mittens. They are the perfect addition to a hat and scarf set. The written pattern and blog can be found here.

Two: Crochet Hat for Beginners

This hat tutorial is super easy and suited for beginners. It is warm and cozy and the pom-pom adds a fun finishing detail. Check out the written pattern and blog here.

Three: Crochet Scarf for Beginners

I created this scarf pattern when I first started my YouTube Channel and blog. It is such an easy pattern to crochet that even a child could make this scarf, and it is a great Christmas Crochet Gift Idea. I do make some mistakes with the terminology in the video tutorial, and I do apologize for that. I am planning to revise this pattern and do a new tutorial in the near future. But here is the written pattern and blog (click the link) and the video is below.

Four: Hugs and Kisses Crocheted Scarf

This scarf is a slightly more advanced version of the previous scarf pattern, but I used the same color yarn so it could go with the hat and mitten patterns if desired. The ends are finished with a scalloped stitch pattern and you have the choice to add tassels or not. You can find the written pattern and blog here.

Five: Super Easy Crocheted Beanie

This pattern crochets up very quickly and can be made in a variety of sizes. It is a ‘top-down’ pattern, so there are some ‘increasing stitches’ used, but it really is an easy pattern. Check out the written directions and blog here.

Six: How to Crochet a Pocket Shawl

My Lavender Field’s Pocket Shawl is yet another Christmas Crochet Gift Idea. This pattern is a bit more advanced because you need to be quite proficient with your crochet tension. I do offer some tips on how to deal with the tension in this pattern, but I do recommend that you have some crochet experience before trying it out. I have the blog post and written pattern here. There are two video tutorials for this project.

Seven: Crocheted Pocket Shawl for Beginners

The next pattern I have is for another pocket shawl design. I loooovvvve this pattern because it is so colorful and cozy, and it’s a great way to use up scrap yarn. I use this pocket shawl all the time when the weather is cooler (which it definitely is not at the time of writing this post… it’s 29 degrees celsius or 84 Fahrenheit). You can find details about this project in the blog post here (sorry, I don’t have a written pattern for this). This tutorial is also in two parts.

Eight: Super Easy Crocheted Scarf for Beginners

If you haven’t noticed by now, I do love to create pretty patterns that are super easy and suited for beginners. I love to inspire beginners with patterns that will be successful and encourage them to continue to enjoy this wonderful craft. So this pretty berry-colored scarf is another Christmas Crochet Gift Idea. I did get a few comments that the color of the yarn was hard to see in the video, so I made another video tutorial, just for the stitch pattern. You can find all that information in the written blog post and pattern, as well as in the description box below the video on YouTube.

Nine: Easy Crochet Cowl for Beginners

This is such a lovely pattern and very easy to crochet. The buttons really make it special! Click here for the blog post and written pattern.

Ten: Easy Crocheted Headband

This is my most popular YouTube video and I love that it inspires so many beginner crocheters. The headband crochets up very quickly and is a perfect product to make for craft shows. Check out the blog post and written pattern here.

So this blog is getting a bit bogged down with all the embedded YouTube videos. You get the idea…each project has both a written blog and a video tutorial. I have a few more patterns to share, so just click on the images below and they will take you to the blog post where you will find both the written directions and a link to the video tutorial.

I hope you find some inspiring Christmas Crochet Gift Ideas here…there certainly are a lot of ideas to choose from! Happy crocheting my dear creative friends.
