If you saw my last blog post, you will know that I have a series of three different snowflake tutorials. In that blog post, I shared one of the patterns, and today I have the tutorials on how to crochet two more snowflake patterns. These snowflakes are so lovely and can be used as ornaments, as gift tags or make a set to give as a gift!
If you missed the last blog post, you can find it here. In that post, I show how to crochet the first snowflake pattern and I have a recipe for sugar starch. This starch is great to use for a number of projects and I show you how to shape a doily into a bowl using the sugar starch. It is so much fun!
The two crocheted snowflake patterns I have here today are bigger than the first one. The largest of the three is actually the easiest of them all! While all three patterns are quite easy, using just basic crochet stitches, I do recommend that one has a bit of crochet experience, simply because working with the fine crochet thread and a small hook can be a bit tricky at first. If you are new to crochet, you can check out my Beginner Crochet Series here.
I had so much fun crocheting and starching these snowflakes and I just love how they turned out! I am actually tempted to have a second Christmas tree with just white lights, these snowflakes, and a few natural decorations like a berry garland and pine cones. Ooooohhhh…that would be so pretty!
The supplies you will need for this project are:
- Number 3 cotton thread
- 2.5 mm (B-1) crochet hook
- Darning needle
- Scissors
- Sugar Starch Recipe
- Hand Steamer (optional)

Here is the tutorial for the second snowflake pattern. You can watch it here, or on YouTube…whatever your heart desires!
And then here is the tutorial for the third snowflake pattern. I do not have written patterns for these snowflakes, and I do apologize for that. I hope to have enough energy one day to offer both options!
