A Basket of Creative Inspiration

Sharing is caring!

Get ready for a burst of creative inspiration! Today I am sharing the amazing gifts of fellow bloggers and creators. There are simply so many wonderful and creative souls out there, and I wanted to share some of their work. This is called a ’round-up post’ because I’m rounding up some great content for you.

I’m sure you have been down the Pinterest rabbit hole with apparent “free tutorials.” You find a beautiful image of a project, and the text of the pin says it is a free tutorial, but after clicking one link after another…it leads nowhere, there is no pattern! Most of those types of pins actually lead to clickbait, which is where a pretty picture is used to draw you into a website that is full of misleading advertising.

You think you are clicking on a link to a pattern, but it’s an ad for something completely different. I find this so frustrating! I want to clarify that the ads placed on blog posts like mine and other content creators are not clickbait. They are meant to support content creators so they can offer free content to you!

So today I wanted to share some tutorials and patterns from reputable creators who work hard to offer high-quality work. Scroll down to be inspired!

DIY Mommy ~ Make Beeswax Wraps

I love this idea of making beeswax food wraps. It saves so much on plastic wrap and they are so pretty too! Go straight to the tutorial here.

Mom’s and Crafters ~ Wire Wrapped Stone Tutorial

This is a really fun wire wrapping technique and could be used to wrap sea glass, stones, or even tiny bottles. Because this is a ‘cage’ technique, it can be used for anything that doesn’t have drilled holes. The tutorial recommends using a 20 gauge wire, but I think a 22 gauge wire would give a great finish. You can find the tutorial here.

A Crafty Concept ~ Crochet Pencil Pattern

Check out this super cute pencil pillow pattern by A Crafty Concept. This would be so much fun for a children’s toy or just as a cute accent on their bed! Go directly to the free pattern here.

Rock Painting Painting 101 ~ Dot Mandala for Beginners

I have a few dot painting tutorials on my blog, but I like to do an ‘abstract style’ of dotting as that seems to match my personality quite well. This is a great basic tutorial if you are interested in learning how to dot paint mandalas and it includes a video tutorial as well! You can go directly to the tutorial here.

Crafts Unleashed ~ How to Wire Wrap Rings

This is a great tutorial! Making your own wire wrapped rings is one of the easiest wire wrapping techniques. Check out the free tutorial here.

Sewrella ~ Crochet Cake Stripe Blanket

I love the beautiful colors in this blanket and the tassels are such a lovely touch! It is a very easy pattern to create because it uses just a single crochet and double crochet stitch! You can find the pattern here.

And here are a few of my own creative tutorials!

Boho Ribbon Necklace

Boho-Ribbon-Necklace-tutorial

This ribbon necklace could be used on its own as a choker or as a necklace to any number of pendants. It could also be wrapped around the wrist for a bracelet or around the ankle as well! You can find the tutorial here.

Freeform dot painting is such a great way to learn how to do this craft. It gives you practice using the dot painting tools, mastering nice even dots, and just getting a general feel for dotting. Check out the tutorial here.

Granny Square Blanket for Beginners

granny square blanket for beginners

This granny square blanket continues to be one of my most popular patterns…I think perhaps because it is so very easy to make, yet is so lovely! Self-striping yarn makes this a very easy project. Go directly to the tutorial here.
