Today I have a very pretty and colorful crocheted scarf tutorial. This project is made with a cotton yarn that offers such pretty and punchy colors. The style of the granny square, combined with the cotton yarn makes this more of a ‘fair weather’ scarf, however, it is actually surprisingly warm!
This scarf is perfect to dress up a denim jacket or any neutral color outfit and would be perfect as we move out of the warm summer months into the fresh and cooler days of the fall. I love crocheted scarves, and in particular, I love to use fun and colorful yarns.
The supplies you will need for this project are:

- Sugar and Spice Tangerine
- Sugar and Spice Black Currant

- Conair Fabric Steamer (optional)
- Crochet Hook Set
- Scissors

Now for this blog post, I am changing things up a bit. Rather than offering both a written tutorial with photos, as well as a video tutorial, I am offering the video tutorial only. I must confess that I am having a hard time keeping up with creating both pieces of content. I am hoping to offer the written patterns in the future!
This scarf pattern will use ten “Happy Granny Squares”. The color combinations I used are shown above (and shown in the scarf video tutorial) and I made two of each color. I’m joining the squares together using a technique I learned in Irish freeform crochet. It makes a very pretty join that matches the pattern of the Happy Granny Square very nicely.
